Our History & Mission

Our original vision when opening Kids Junction Preschool Learning Center was to enrich the lives of children ages 2 to 5 years old. But we quickly saw the need for school-age kids in the Madison area to have fun, adventurous summers and engaging after school activities.

In a world that’s increasingly ruled by screens and swiping, we wanted them to have real-life experiences, genuine friendships and summer day camp memories that would last a lifetime. That’s why in 2005, we decided to expand and create a space that would accommodate over 70 schoolagers for after school as well as summer camp programs.

With co-founder Sandra Olsen having spent over 27 years building a childcare program on Madison‘s east side that featured a large after-school program and summer camp with a focus on fun and adventure, it was an easy transition to adopt these values into what we would call Summer Adventure Camp (SAC) for children ages 4 to 12 years old.

A few years into Summer Adventure Camp’s launch, we had requests from children turning 13 who wanted to come back “one more year.” Summer Adventure Camp Senior (SAC Sr.) was quickly born with a focus on serving families with middle-school-aged children. Now, we’ve proudly served families in the Madison area through our after school and summer day camp programs for over 20 years.
