Our History

Our original vision when opening Kids Junction Preschool Learning Center was to enrich the lives of children ages 2 to 5 years old. We soon realized that there was an apparent need for school-age children in our community to receive care as well. In 2005, we decided to expand and create a space that would accommodate over 70 schoolagers for after-school as well as summer camp programs.

With co-founder Sandra Olsen having spent over 27 years building a childcare program on Madison‘s east side that featured a large after-school program and summer camp with a focus on fun and adventure, it was an easy transition to adopt these values into what we would call Summer Adventure Camp (SAC) for children ages 4 to 12 years old. A few years into Summer Adventure Camp’s launch, we had requests from children turning 13 who wanted to come back “one more year.” Summer Adventure Camp Senior (SAC Sr.) was quickly born with a focus on serving families with middle-school-aged children. Now, we’ve proudly served families in the Madison area through our school-age and Christian summer camp programs for over 20 years.

Mind

We are committed to caring for your child through teaching them in age-appropriate ways that will help them hit the milestones recommended for their stage of life. While your child interacts with daily field-trips, crafts, activities and fun adventures, they will have the opportunity to enrich and expand their growing mind.

Body

Just as your child’s mind has developmental stages, so does their growing body! We nurture this growth by fueling them with good meals, providing them with opportunities for play and exercise, and giving them appropriate nap and rest times throughout the day.

Christlike Character

Our highest desire for your child’s development here at Kids Junction Summer Adventure Camp is that they would become a person of excellent character. To encourage this, we use our Kids Junction Bible Curriculum, designed with Christlike values at the center. Our Camp Counselors also serve as living examples as they demonstrate excellent character to your child.
